TOKYO, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks lost ground Monday morning, with the benchmark Nikkei stock index falling to a one-month low on concerns about the impact of Turkey's economic crisis on the global economy.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 355.85 points, or 1.60 percent, from Friday to 21,942.23.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, fell 29.53 points, or 1.72 percent, at 1,690.63.
Marine transportation, nonferrous metal and machinery-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
