VIENNA, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- Austria is set for its second heat wave during the current Summer to gradually build in the coming days, according to experts from weather authority Ubimet.
Austria had much like the rest of Europe been subject to temperatures well over 30-degrees Celsius up until the second week of August, before cooling considerably.
Temperatures are expected to climb up to the 30-degree range again in the coming days, however, before heating up even further in the coming week.
While temperatures are not expected to peak in the high 30s like they did in early August, temperatures of up to 34 degrees are still possible, including in national capital Vienna, and the states of both Lower and Upper Austria, and Burgenland.
Speaking to the Krone, Ubimet meteorologist Manfred Spatzierer said unlike during the earlier heat wave, some relief will this time be seen during evenings, where temperatures will regularly drop below 20 degrees, in part due to the fact that nights are now about 45 minutes longer in duration.
