QINGDAO, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- The 28th Qingdao International Beer Festival, the largest beer festival in China, received 6.2 million tourists as it closed Sunday.
The festival, held in the coastal city of Qingdao, the birthplace of Tsingtao beer in east China's Shandong Province, gathered 200 beer brands from over 30 countries and regions and offered more than 1,300 types of beer, according to the organizer.
The festival lasted 38 days, longer than any previous event since it was inaugurated in 1991, to accommodate more tourists.
Qingdao hosted the 18th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit on June 9 and 10. The festival featured SCO countries, including a venue for Russian beer.
