PALEMBANG, Indonesia, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- South Korea and Japan players won gold medals of soft tennis men's and women's singles at the 18th Asian Games here on Wednesday.
South Korean Kim Jin-woon seized the gold medal in men's singles after defeating Indonesian finalist Alexander Elbert Sie 4-2.
Meanwhile, Noa Takahashi of Japan outplayed her Chinese Taipei opponent Cheng Chuling opponent 4-3 to win the gold medal in women's category.
"I really sorry for that. I had several opportunities but I could not execute it properly. My opponent played very well in the final match," Alexander said after the match.
