KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad will make a two-day official visit to Brunei from Sunday as a part of a series of foreign trips after he assumed office in May.
Sultan of Brunei Haji Hassanal Bolkiah is scheduled to have an audience with Mahathir, according to Malaysia's state news agency Bernama, quoting a statement by the Malaysian foreign ministry on Saturday.
The visit would provide opportunities to strengthen bilateral ties and boost cooperation. It will also enable Malaysia to highlight the latest government policies and the country's stand, particularly on issues that have mutual benefits, according to the statement.
The visit will also see the two leaders exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest, the statement said.
