PALEMBANG, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Japan earned on Sunday a gold medal in mixed triathlon relay, the last Asian Games sports event held here.
The gold medal was secured by Yuka Sato, Jumpei Furuya, Yuko Takahashi and Yuichi Hosoda in one hour 30 minutes and 39 seconds.
Teams from South Korea and Hong Kong, China bagged silver and bronze medals respectively.
Athletes of the 13 teams taking part in this event competed in a relay consisting of 300m swimming, 6.7 kilometers cycling and 2.1 kilometers running.
Yuko Takahashi won the gold medal for Japan in women's triathlon on 1:52:59 on Friday.
The silver and bronze medals went to Chinese athlete Zhong Mengying and Hoi Long from Macao, China respectively.
Meanwhile, Japan's Jumpei Furuya won a gold medal in the men's triathlon held here on Saturday in 1:49:43.
The silver and bronze medals were earned by Ayan Beisenbayev Kazakhstan and Li Mingxu from China respectively.
