SHIJIAZHUANG, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- Cima Damiano, an Italian cyclist racing for the Nippo-Vini Fantini-Europa Ovini team on Wednesday clinched gold in the three-day international cycling race in Xingtai in China's Hebei Province. On the third race day, 142 professional cyclists competed along a 150-kilometer route.
Juan Sebastian Molano, racing for the Manzana Postobon team won the third stage in a time of 3 hours 07 minutes 23 seconds. Cima Damiano grabbed the overall title with a cumulative time of 8:52:37, claiming the race's yellow jersey and green jersey, a symbol of the leader and best sprinter in general classification respectively.
Damiano, the 24-year-old rider, has ten years of cycling experience. "It is very memorable that this is the first award I won in China, also the first championship of my career," Damiano said excitedly.
The second place went to Castillo Soto Ulises Alfredo from the Jelly Belly P/B Maxxis team, and Mykhaylo Kononenko from Beijing XDS-Innova took third place.
