BEIJING, Sept.5 (Xinhua) -- A joint manufacturing innovation center of Boeing and Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) has trained 5,000 aviation professionals, according to Boeing China on Wednesday.
The aviation manufacturing training highlights the close and long-term industrial cooperation of both sides, and Boeing's vision to upgrade the manufacturing capacity of its suppliers, said Boeing China.
Both sides jointly set up the headquarters of the manufacturing innovation center in Beijing in 2012 and its division in Shenyang, in northeastern China's Liaoning Province, in 2015.
The joint manufacturing innovation center has been training the AVIC staff with knowledge and skills which are related to their work in the Boeing commercial aircraft programs.
Besides the manufacturing knowledge and skills, the center also shares Boeing's management experiences of its production system, projects, and suppliers.
Boeing delivered a record high of 202 new aircraft to China in 2017, representing 26 percent of its global deliveries.
To date, more than 9,000 Boeing in-service commercial airplanes around the world have parts from Chinese suppliers.
