RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Former Brazil internationals Ricardo Oliveira and Elias struck second-half goals as Atletico Mineiro came from behind to beat Atletico Paranaense 3-1 in the Brazilian Serie A championship on Monday.
Atletico Parananese took the lead via an Iago Maidana own goal in the 10th minute at Atletico Mineiro's Independencia Stadium in Belo Horizonte.
Leonardo Silva equalized with a bullet header just before the half-hour mark and Elias then put the hosts ahead by deftly controlling a Luan pass and firing into the top corner.
Thirty-eight year-old striker Oliveira extended Atletico Mineiro's lead by blasting in from close after his first attempt was blocked by goalkeeper Aderbar Santos.
The result lifted Atletico Mineiro to fifth in the 20-team standings, eight points behind leaders Internacional. Atletico Paranaense dropped to 14th, just three points clear of the relegation zone.
