TOKYO, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks gained ground Thursday morning.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 182.72 points, or 0.81 percent, from Wednesday to 22,787.33.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 15.77 points, or 0.93 percent, at 1,707.09.

Mining, rubber product, and marine transportation-linked issues comprised those that advanced the most by the morning break.
