HANOI, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's low-cost carrier Jetstar Pacific will continue to cancel some flights to the Japanese city of Osaka until Sept. 20 as repair work is still underway at Kansai International Airport following the hit of Typhoon Jebi.
The affected flights are those scheduled to depart from Vietnam's central Da Nang city and northern Hanoi city to Osaka and vice versa, the carrier announced on Thursday.
Jetstar Pacific has had to suspend a total of 38 flights between Vietnam and Osaka between Sept. 4 and Sept. 20. Earlier, Vietnam's national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines had to cancel 16 flights from Sept. 4 to Sept. 7 as the typhoon was raging in western Japan.
Typhoon Jebi, the strongest to hit Japan in 25 years, flooded one runway and a terminal building at Kansai airport, causing damage to the only bridge connecting the facility with the mainland, according to Japanese media.
