BEIJING, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi will attend the general debate of the United Nations General Assembly on Sept. 25, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Monday.
The 73rd Regular Session of the UN General Assembly will convene at the UN headquarters in New York on Tuesday. The general debate will open on Sept. 25.
During the debate, Wang will elaborate on China's position and propositions regarding the international situation as well as major international and regional issues, spokesperson Geng Shuang said at a daily press briefing.
"Wang will express China's resolute determination to work with UN member states to maintain multilateralism, safeguard the UN's authority and role, and facilitate world peace and development," Geng said.
Prior to his attendance at the debate, Wang will pay official visits to the Dominican Republic, Guyana and Suriname, from Thursday to Sunday.
