HONG KONG, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- A magnitude-5.8 earthquake jolted 48 km ESE of Gizo, Solomon Islands at 11:57:52 GMT on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 8.3287 degrees south latitude and 157.2172 degrees east longitude.
