WUHAN, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Twenty people were selected as volunteer ambassadors for the 7th Military World Games and made their debut in the hosting city of Wuhan here on Friday.
Half 10 of them are from the military, including the navy, army and air force, with the other half coming from the public, including sportscaster, gymnastics world champion and entrepreneuse, according to the organizing committee.
All of them are selected from the nation-wide or military ballots voted by up to 1 million people since March, said the committee.
On behalf of the volunteer ambassadors, both Fan Zhendong, a Chinese professional table tennis player who ranks No. 1 for men's singles by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) and Ju Binbin, a female education volunteer, expressed their willingness and determination to serve the Games slated for Oct. 18-27, 2019 in Wuhan, China.
The 7th Military World Games will feature some 10,000 athletes from more than 100 countries and regions, competing in 329 events of 27 sports.
