BUENOS AIRES, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- Augusto Solari struck his second goal of the Superliga Argentina season on Monday as Racing Club maintained a two-point buffer at the top of the standings with 1-0 victory over Union de Santa Fe.
The 26-year-old headed in just before the hour mark following a Eugenio Mena cross from the left and the hosts defended resolutely thereafter at El Cilindro.
It was Racing's fifth win from six matches and marked Union's first loss of the campaign as they slipped to 10th place.
"It was a very tough game and we needed to win to stay at the top. We're happy that we managed to do that," Racing coach Eduardo Coudet said.
In Monday's only other fixture, Aldosivi won 2-0 at home to Belgrano thanks to two goals in the last 15 minutes from midfielder Cristian Chavez. Enditem
