LONDON, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.45 percent, or 33.95 points, to close at 7,545.44 points.
Centrica, a British multinational energy and services company, soared 2.85 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Pearson and Ocado Group increased by 2.82 percent and 2.70 percent, respectively.
Carnival, a cruise operator, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 5.17 percent. DCC, an international sales, marketing and support services group, dropped 4.24 percent. Fresnillo, a precious metals mining company, fell 2.92 percent. Enditem
