ULAN BATOR, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan has provided 500,000 U.S. dollars in humanitarian aid to Mongolia, the Mongolian government press office said Wednesday.
Kazakhstan's ambassador to Mongolia Kalybek Koblandin met with Mongolian Deputy Prime Minister Ulziisaikhan Enkhtuvshin in Ulan Bator and handed over the aid.
The money will be earmarked for the reconstruction work in the western Bayan-Ulgii Province, the statement said.
Downpours from July 14 to 16 triggered massive flooding in Bayan-Ulgii, affecting more than 2,500 people, according to Mongolia's National Emergency Management Agency.
