DUBAI, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- The Abu Dhabi stock market ADX gained slightly on Sunday, the first trading day of the last trading week in October, while its sister bourse DFM in Dubai lost value as blue chip shares plummeted.
The ADX General Index closed 0.31 percent higher at 4,897.57, driven by banks such as the United Arab Emirates' biggest lender First Abu Dhabi Bank, up 0.57 percent, and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, 0.29 percent.
Abu Dhabi National Energy Company failed to join the trend and lost 2.68 percent.
The Dubai market gauge DFMGI ended 0.42 percent lower at 2,724.83, as market bellwether Emaar Properties dived 2.01 percent.
Shares of DP World, the world's third biggest container terminal operator, plummeted 3.69 percent.
However, Air Arabia finished 3.06 percent higher.
