LONDON, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.19 percent, or 13.44 points, to close at 7,114.66 points.
BT Group, a British multinational telecommunications holding company, soared 8.61 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Smith & Nephew and Just Eat increased by 6.56 percent and 6.32 percent, respectively.
John Wood Group, an international energy services company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 4.65 percent.
