RAMALLAH, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- The Palestinian Authority slammed on Sunday the Israeli raid into its office buildings in the East Jerusalem town of Dahiyat al-Barid, the Palestinian official news agency WAFA reported.
"The violent assault" against the employees at their headquarters "represents a dangerous Israeli escalation and a flagrant violation of all agreements, laws and international legitimacy," the Palestinian government spokesman Yousef Al-Mahmoud said in a press statement.
Israel must be held responsible for "its continuous attacks against Jerusalem city, its residents, religious sites and institutions," he added.
The spokesman urged Arab and Islamic governments to "stand up to protect the occupied city and history and holy sites."
According to WAFA, two Palestinian employees were injured by Israeli forces which broke into the headquarters of the Jerusalem Governorate and the Ministry of Jerusalem Affairs in East Jerusalem earlier in the day.
Local sources said the Israeli troops cordoned off the two headquarters buildings before violently forcing the Palestinian personnel out of their offices and seized their cameras, hard disks, computers and files.
No Israeli sources were available for comment on the incident.
