LONDON, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.89 percent, or 63.16 points, to close at 7,040.68 points.
Associated British Foods, a UK multinational food processing and retailing company, soared 3.02 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Marks & Spencer Group and Direct Line Insurance Group increased by 1.65 percent and 1.48 percent respectively.
BT Group, a British multinational telecommunications holding company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 4.49 percent. WM Morrison Supermarkets dropped 3.95 percent, and CRH, a multinational sports betting and gaming group, fell 3.66 percent. Enditem
