KHARTOUM, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- Sudan government on Thursday welcomed the readiness of the United States to remove Sudan's name from the list of state sponsors of terrorism.
"Sudan welcomes the announcement by the United States of its readiness to begin a phase of removing Sudan's name from the list of state sponsors of terrorism and enhance the cooperation ties between the two countries," said Sudan's Foreign Ministry in a statement Thursday.
The statement reiterated Sudan's readiness to engage in the tracks of the second phase of dialogue between Washington and Khartoum to reach the aspired goals.
The statement also declared Sudan's welcome of the launch of the second phase of the strategic dialogue which has been designed to expand the bilateral cooperation and achieve further progress in many fields of common interests, particularly after success of the first phase that culminated with lifting the U.S economic sanctions on Sudan.
