MADRID, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- Four people were injured, including a 10-year-old girl in a "serious" condition, after a car mounted a pavement in Barcelona on Friday morning, hitting pedestrians, pavement terraces and parked motorcycles.
Local police confirmed that the accident happened shortly before 9 a.m. at the junction of the streets Travessera de Gracia and Santalo when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The car mounted the pavement and continued for around 40 meters, hitting everything in front of it before swerving across the road and crashing into the front of a bank.
Eight ambulances rushed to the scene immediately along with members of the Catalan regional police.
The cause of the accident is not yet known, but it is believed the driver suffered an "indisposition" at the wheel which caused him to lose control of the vehicle.
