KIEV, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- Visiting European Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn said here on Friday that Ukraine has made progress in implementing reforms, according to the Ukrainian government press service.
"I congratulate on the reform efforts. In the last 2-3 years it has been achieved more than in the previous 20 years," Hahn was quoted as saying during the meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman.
Over the past year, Ukraine has made significant progresses in the reforms of health, pension and education sectors, Hahn said.
For his part, Groysman said that although Ukraine faces "unprecedented challenges," it will continue advancing reforms, many of which are aimed at the European integration.
"We are moving towards improving governance, accelerating integration. We must become part of Europe, thereby strengthening the European Union," Groysman said.
Hahn arrived in Kiev on Thursday for a two-day visit to discuss reforms in Ukraine with key political figures.
