SHANGHAI, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- An online platform has been launched to allow Internet users to revisit the concluded China International Import Expo (CIIE) via virtue reality (VR) technology.
Through terminals such as mobile phones, portable computers and VR eyeglasses, Internet users can visit more than 1,300 booths and 4,600 scenes, all captured by cameras during the six-day event that concluded on Nov. 10 in Shanghai.
"Through the platform, we hope to retain the spectacle of the expo and keep it running forever," said Li Jingjing, head of the VR project.
A total of 172 countries, regions and international organizations along with more than 3,600 enterprises participated in the event, which attracted more than 400,000 domestic and overseas purchasers.
Deals for intended one-year purchases of goods and services worth a total 57.83 billion U.S. dollars were reached at the expo.
