LONDON, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- Chelsea have confirmed that their French international midfielder N'Golo Kante has agreed a new five-year contract with the club.
The 27-year-old World Cup winner, who joined after winning the Premier League with Leicester City in 2016, won the title with the London based outfit again in 2017 and was also named as Player of the Year by the Professional Footballers' Association and Football Writers' Association in the same season.
This campaign has seen him play a key role in Chelsea's recovery under former Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri and he has been an ever-present in Sarri's starting 11.
"N'Golo Kante has today extended his stay at Stamford Bridge by signing a new five-year contract," confirmed Chelsea on their official website.
Kante explained he was delighted to commit his future to the club. "It has been two beautiful years and I wish for more to come."
"Since I came, I completely improved as a player, challenged myself and got some awards I never thought about," he commented.
