TUNIS, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- Germany has granted Tunisia 8 million euros (9.05 million U.S. dollars) to finance a project for land protection and food security, said a statement issued Friday.
The project aims at "protecting and developing land to guarantee food security," said the statement released by Tunisia's Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries.
A day earlier, Tunisian and German officials signed in the capital Tunis a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the implementation of the project, as part of a comprehensive program launched by the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development in 2015.
The MoU was signed during the visit of a delegation of German experts to Tunisia from Nov. 19 to 30.
