CHICAGO, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- Multiple fatalities were reported after a small jet plane crashed Friday in the U.S. state of Indiana en route to Chicago.
The Cessna Citation C525 private jet was flying from Indiana's Clark Regional Airport to Chicago Midway International Airport when it disappeared from air traffic radar around 1130 a.m local time, authorities said.
Multiple people were feared dead in the crash, Clark County sheriff Jamey Noel told local press near the scene in Borden, some 150 kilometers south of state capital Indianapolis.
Unconfirmed reports said that three people were on the plane. Aerial pictures showed small debris spreading across a wooded area, with no sign of any survivors.
Clark County officials said they would turn the investigation over to Indiana police and federal aviation authorities.
