NEW DELHI, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Indian President Ram Nath Kovind will start a five-day state visit to Myanmar on Dec. 10-14, India's Ministry of External Affairs said on Tuesday.
Kovind will visit Nay Pyi Taw and Yangon, and meet with his host President U Win Myint and State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi.
Myanmar is one of India's important maritime neighbours. Over the past three years, the political, economic and defence ties with Myanmar have grown rapidly, said a statement issued by the ministry.
Several bilateral agreements are expected to be signed during the president's forthcoming visit, said official sources.
