BEIJING, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- Darius Adams scored a game-high 52 points, helping Xinjiang beat Tongxi 125-118 to get five-game winning streak in the 25th round action of the 2018-19 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Thursday.
With a pair of 3-pointer from Adams, the visiting Xinjiang got a sweet start at the beginning of the game, yet Tongxi used a 7-0 run which was under Joseph Young's guidance to cut the deficits to 26-28 after the first quarter.
From the second quarter, Xinjiang picked up the defence to shut down Young, which paid off down the stretch. Tongxi narrowed the gap to 6 points midway in the last quarter, but Adams scored to seal the victory.
Young finished with a team-high 51 points. Guo Yifei added 19 points. Except Adams, four players of Xinjiang scored double-digit points.
Powerhouse Guangdong hammered Aolong 129-101, leading the whole league with 23 wins.
Elsewhere, Bayi lost to Fujian 103-102, Guangzhou smashed Tianjin 144-104, Qingdao defeated Jiangsu 100-95, Shandong edged off Jilin 112-102, and Guangsha beat Shanghai 127-119.
