TEHRAN, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- Iranian soccer club Esteghlal confirmed on Saturday the signing of German Martin Forkel as its assistant coach.

Forkel, 39, will join Esteghlal in Qatar's Doha training camp.

Furthermore, Esteghlal has named Farhad Majidi as another assistant for the team. Majidi was playing under coaching of Winfried Schaefer in Al Ahli of the UAE in 2007.

Currently, Esteghlal sits at the fifth place in the standings of Iran's Super League.
