TUNIS, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- A financial agreement worth 150 million euros (171 million U.S. dollars) was signed on Tuesday between Tunisia, African Development Bank (AfDB) and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The agreement covers a sanitation program involving 33 Tunisian municipalities, which will promote the creation of 24 wastewater treatment plants, the construction of 30 pumping stations, and the extension of 862 kilometers of sanitation pipeline.
The agreement was signed by Tunisia Minister of Investment, Development and International Cooperation Zied Laadhari, Director of AfDB's Africa Office Mohamed Azizi and Director of EBRD's office in Tunis Antoine Sallé De-Chou.
"This project will be beneficial for the 200,000 citizens in the regions concerned," said Laadhari in a press release.
