BEIJING, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- A senior military official on Monday called on the military to make new advances in the fight against corruption.
Zhang Youxia, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), made the remarks at a meeting of the CMC's discipline inspection commission.
Zhang ordered the entire military to implement the spirit of the third plenary session of the 19th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CPC, which concluded Sunday.
It is necessary to cherish and safeguard the "sweeping victory" of the campaign against corruption and make new progress in full and strict governance over the Party and the military, Zhang noted.
While stressing the importance of strengthening political oversight to ensure the military maintains political integrity, Zhang urged the troops to sharpen their combat capability and improve war preparedness.
