HANOI, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- During a two-day meeting of national tourism organizations of Southeast Asian countries which concluded on Tuesday in Vietnam's northern Quang Ninh province, its delegates adopted reports on investing in tourism, developing tourism products, including cultural tourism and gastronomy tourism, and protecting heritages.
During the 49th meeting of national tourism organizations of the 10 members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Quang Ninh's Ha Long city, under the chairmanship of Vietnam and Brunei, the delegates also adopted reports of ASEAN tourism committees on other issues, including tourism marketing, standards, connectivity, infrastructure, safety, security, environment, climate change, travel facilitation and private sector participation.
According to the delegates, developing culture- and heritage-based tourism will help not only bring into play values of culture and heritages, but also diversify tourism products to attract more visitors to ASEAN countries.
