MUSCAT, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- The Omani health ministry started on Wednesday a campaign to eradicate the Egyptian zebra mosquito in the state of Boucher.
According to a ministry statement, Boucher is the second stop of the campaign to eradicate the mosquito, following a similar one in the state of Seeb on Jan. 8, as dengue fever was found transmitted by the mosquito in the country.
The recent official figures show the number of cases of diseases transmitted by the mosquito, including dengue fever, has risen to 40 in Oman.
