TOKYO, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- A magnitude-5.7 earthquake hit Japan's Iwate Prefecture on the Honshu Island on Saturday, according to Japan Meteorological Agency.
The temblor occurred at about 17:23 local time, with its epicenter at a latitude of 40.3 degrees north and a longitude of 142.4 degrees east, and at a depth of 30 km.
The quake logged four in some parts of Iwate Prefecture on the Japanese seismic intensity scale which peaks at seven.
So far no tsunami warning has been issued.
