BEIJING, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- The general office of the Central Military Commission (CMC) made public a plan for the construction of military history venues on Sunday.
The plan defines the guiding theory, construction concept, layout, objectives and support measures for the construction.
Led by the Beijing-based Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution, a series of military museums should be put into place, which could include museums specialized in different military services, the museum of the armed police force and the museum of active military equipment, according to the plan.
Following the principles of simple, digital and open construction, the venues should be built to serve as classrooms for educating soldiers about the Party's theories, policies, history and fine traditions, military technology and equipment knowledge, as well as patriotism and national defense, it read.
The document hailed military history venues as important and meaningful for educating the military, inspiring them to remember history and to achieve the Party's goal of building a strong military in the new era.
