KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- The Afghan security forces have arrested four suspected Taliban militants in the southern province of Kandahar in the latest raid against the insurgents, authorities said Wednesday.
"Special Operations Forces of National Directorate of Security (NDS) launched an operation in Talawkan locality of Panjwai district late Tuesday. Following the raid four suspected terrorists were detained and no shot was fired during the raid," provincial department of NDS, the country's primary intelligence agency, said in a statement.
The security forces also destroyed a suicide bomb belt and 200 kg of hashish following the raid besides confiscating an AK-47 gun and three gun magazines, the statement added.
Identity and linkages of the arrestees are being investigated, the statement said.
The Taliban militant group has not made a comment on the report yet.
