TASHKENT, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- Uzbekistan has decided to bid for hosting the 2030 Asian Games, Uzbek National Olympic Committee said Monday.
The issue was discussed with the visiting Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) delegation headed by OCA President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah who arrived in Tashkent on Sunday.
"The parties discussed the possibility of holding the Asian Games-2030 in two cities of Uzbekistan - Tashkent and Samarkand," said a Uzbek National Olympic Committee statement.
The 2018 Asian Games were held in Indonesia, the 2022 will be hosted by China and the 2026 by Japan.
So far, other bidders for the 2030 Asian Games are the Philippines, India and Qatar.
