CARACAS, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Peru's Melgar secured a berth in the group stage of the Copa Libertadores by completing a 3-2 aggregate victory over Caracas FC in their qualifying playoff here on Tuesday.
Melgar saw their 2-0 lead after the first leg disappear following goals either side of halftime from Eduardo Ferreira and Richard Celis.
But Bernardo Cuesta put the visitors ahead again after a smart turn and finish from 12 yards in the 89th minute.
The result handed Melgar a place in Group F of South America's top club competition alongside Brazil's Palmeiras, Argentine side San Lorenzo and Junior of Colombia.
In Wednesday's qualifying playoffs, Palestino of Chile will host Argentina's Talleres Cordoba and Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro are at home to Uruguay's Defensor Sporting.
