BUCHAREST, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Several large-scale intercontinental aircraft will make refueling stopover late Wednesday at Henri Coanda Airport in Bucharest, after Pakistan shut down its airspace, Bucharest Airports National Company (CNAB) informed Wednesday.
"As a result of the situation in Pakistan, which also led to the modification of the flight routes for long-haul flights in the area, tonight, several large aircraft coming from Asia to Europe are due to land at Henri Coanda Airport," CNAB said in a statement.
Air France-KLM and British Airways are among the companies that will change the original routes and at least four Boeing 777 planes are about to land in Romania in the evening, it said.
Pakistan announced earlier in the day that it had shut down all of its airports and airspace due to the tension in the region with India.
