KAMPALA, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Uganda will attend an international invitational tournament scheduled for March 1-9 in Antalya, Turkey, warming up for the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2019 to take place in April in Tanzania.
The Union of European Football Associations and the Confederation of African Football are the organizers of the event.
"Our team will open against Cameroon on March 4 before taking on Morocco two days after and battling Belarus on March 8," Humphrey Mandu, deputy general secretary of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations told Xinhua on Wednesday.
All the eight teams that qualified for the U-17 AFCON will take part in the invitational tounament in Turkey. They are Tanzania, Uganda, Morocco, Cameroon, Senegal, Angola, Nigeria and Guinea.
The participants outside Africa are Belarus, Australia, Montenegro and hosts Turkey.
