CHANGCHUN, China, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Chinese young skier Sun Jiaxu finished on top at the aerials World Cup at Shimao Lotus Mountain Ski Resort on Saturday, edging his teammate Wang Xindi by 0.89 points to claim his first career world cup victory.
The 19-year-old Sun scored a career-best 126.11 points in the final of the season's last world cup event. Eric Loughran of the United States got 123.45 to claim the bronze.
Earlier in the ladies' final, home veteran Xu Mengtao, who ranked the first in the qualification, missed the podium as she scored 81.07 to take the fourth place.
Australia's Laural Peel hit 96.58 to win her first title of the season. Xu Sichun of China and Ashley Caldwell of the United States both got 81.78 to take the other two spots on the podium. Enditem
