CHANGCHUN, China, March 3 (Xinhua) -- Chinese aerials freestyle skier Xu Mengtao insisted that she would do her job well in the 2022 Winter Olympics after she took the World Cup title at Shimao Lotus Mountain Ski Resort here on Sunday.
The win, coupled with two titles in previous four legs, helped Xu to stand atop of the final standings for the third consecutive time. Xu also became the five-time World Cup winner.
Xu admitted that she suffered a lot as she took surgery on both knees last year, following a fiasco in PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
"I had the surgery after the Olympic Games, but I kept training after that. I want to thank my team and coaches who always helped me during my recovery and daily training," Xu said.
Xu said she was happy to see her teammate Shao Qi to be awarded the Best Women Rookie in World Cup.
"I took the prize 12 years ago, now my teammate also made it, which means our team is experienced in cultivating young players."
Xu said that the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic was her priority, but the games in 2020 were also important. "Time will be in a hurry, we will keep going and prepare for every game step by step."
She added: "Everyone has her own plan for the Beijing Olympic Games, but to me, I will do my job well."
