HANOI, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's total goods retail sales and consumer service revenues in the first two months of this year grew 12.2 percent on-year to 793.8 trillion Vietnamese dong (34.5 billion U.S. dollars), according to the country's General Statistics Office on Monday.
Specifically, Vietnam's goods retail sales stood at 613.4 trillion Vietnamese dong (nearly 26.7 billion U.S. dollars), up 14.4 percent, with sales of food and foodstuffs growing 14.4 percent, home appliances growing 13.3 percent, garments growing 13.2 percent, and vehicles growing 12.8 percent.
From January to February, restaurant and accommodation revenues were 90.2 trillion Vietnamese dong (3.9 billion U.S. dollars), up 5.7 percent, and tourism revenues stood at 8 trillion Vietnamese dong (347.8 million U.S. dollars), up 7.8 percent, said the office.
In 2018, Vietnam's total goods retail sales and consumer service revenues rose 11.7 percent on-year to nearly 4,396 trillion Vietnamese dong (191.1 billion U.S. dollars). Specifically, its goods retail sales surged 12.4 percent to over 3,306 trillion Vietnamese dong (143.7 billion U.S. dollars).
