RIO DE JANEIRO, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Santos are interested in signing Shandong Luneng forward Roger Guedes, according to the Brazilian Serie A side's president.
Fluminense striker Pedro, who is recovering from a serious knee injury, is the club's first option but a formal offer could also be made for 22-year-old Guedes, who joined Shandong Luneng from Atletico Mineiro last July.
"We are looking overseas and considering all of our options," Santos president Jose Carlos Peres told reporters. "Every big team wants to have Roger Guedes. He plays on the right wing and that makes him appealing."
Guedes has scored just twice in nine Chinese Super League appearances for Shandong Luneng, who beat Beijing Renhe 1-0 in their first game of the new season last Friday.
The Brazilian Serie A season starts on April 28.
