KUWAIT CITY, March 14 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait launched on Thursday a cycling event in its capital Kuwait City.
The three-day event, organized by Global Biking Initiative (GBI), a cycling organization, will stretch 350 km from the north to the south of the capital city, with the participation of 85 cyclists from eight countries, according to Sara Al-Hubail, Kuwait representative at GBI.
"Kuwait is the first Gulf country to host such cycling event," she said.
Established in Germany in 2008, GBI is a worldwide cycling community with the mission to raise funds for charities in more than 20 countries.
More than 2,000 cyclists have participated in GBI events, crossing 16 countries in Europe, Africa and Asia.
