TAIYUAN, March 28 (Xinhua) -- The second Chinese National Youth Games torch relay started on Thursday in China's northwestern city of Yuncheng, Shanxi province.
The National Youth Games, which will open on August 17 in Shanxi, is the largest national multi-sport event organized by the General Administration of Sport of China in 2019.
To mark the occasion, the Organizing Committee held a torch lighting ceremony at a relics park named Xihoudu which has a history spanning 1.8 million years.
At the ceremony, there were six torches including a virtual torch to light the online relay featuring VR technology.
Along with the traditional torch relay, the virtual torch relay will run online for 130 days and pass through all over China before it finally arrives in the host province on May 4.
