YAOUNDE, March 29 (Xinhua) -- Alain Djeumfa, head coach of Cameroon women's football team, Indomitable Lionesses, named on Friday the squad for a four-nation invitational tournament in China billed for April.
Among the squad are 12 footballers playing overseas, including stars like Ajara Nchout, Gaelle Enganamouit, Raissa Feudjio, Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene, Fallone Meffometou and Christine Manie.
These players will join the home-based professionals to take part in the third phase of a domestic training camp at the CAF Center of Excellence in the capital, Yaounde.
The tournament in China, also featuring other two teams of Croatia and Russia, will be the first international games for Cameroon after they qualified for the Women's World Cup through the 2018 Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana last December.
According to Djeumfa, the tournament will help the team get better prepared for the World Cup slated for June in France, and Cameroon will play their first match of the tournament against Croatia on April 4.
The Indomitable Lionesses will launch their second Women's World Cup campaign against Canada on June 10 in Group E.
