BUDAPEST, March 30 (Xinhua) -- The Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW) was held again in Budapest over the weekend, with nearly 40 domestic and international designers presenting their next autumn-winter collection, according to organizers.
The event that started on Friday is hosted by the recently renovated beautiful Castle Garden Bazaar, overlooking the Danube River.
"Participants will be able to watch the clothes of eight Hungarian designers attending the last Milan Fashion Week," Zsofia Bata-Jakab, the head of the Hungarian Fashion and Design Agency, said on Hungarian public television M1, before the opening of the show.
"There is a great international interest for the event. Guests arriving from the surrounding countries and Milan also come to the fashion week," Bata-Jakab added.
Showroom leaders and Italian mentors will visit Budapest to get to know more Hungarian brands and to explore new cooperation opportunities, according to Bata-Jakab.
"These companies are the ones who can connect the Hungarian designers to the international market," she underlined, adding that she hoped that more and more specific orders would arrive and deals leading to concrete orders would be made.
"Our goal is to make Budapest a regional fashion hub," she concluded.
Each season BCEFW creates a curated exhibition space for accessory designers and a pop-up store. Design related activities and exhibitions, special venues and best local bars, hotels, restaurant are involved as side events to show the Budapest vibes to the visitors.
